This Program is for individuals who...
  • Have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes
  • Have a family history of diabetes and/or experienced gestational diabetes in the past and are seeking prevention through physical activity
  • Have been diagnosed with Diabetes, lead a sedentary lifestyle and your doctor has recommended beginning an exercise program
  • Are 19 years of age or older
Program components include:
  • Individualized cardiovascular and strength training to enhance each participant's fitness level by training at different target heart rate zones.
  • Stretching exercises designed to increase flexibility.
  • Nutrition lectures will be provided once every three months on a variety of topics. One on one nutrition counseling will also be available for those interested at a discounted rate.
    • Fitness Center members: free
    • Non-Fitness Center members: $50
  • Educational information pertaining to diabetes issues will be given out monthly.

The Fitness Center features an Aerobic Performance room, complete with cardiovascular exercise equipment, a Strength Enhancement room, with progressive resistance weight equipment and complete locker facilities.
