Notes

Facilities include the Council Service Center, located in Hickory, N.C., which is the focal point of staff services and houses a program center for training, meetings, and troop functions. A Council Store, also at this location, provides uniforms, equipment and resource materials for volunteers and parents.

Camp Ginger Cascades, the award-winning camp located in the Brushy Mountains of Caldwell County, is a 226-acre outdoor recreational facility accredited by the American Camping Association, which received the Award of Excellence for Recreational Services from Easter Seals for outstanding service to girls with special needs.
The camp has also been recognized by the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities as one of the five exemplary programs in North Carolina by providing camp opportunities for girls with disabilities. The site provides resident, primitive and troop camping, and a lake, pool, challenge course and climbing wall. Three sites are winterized for cold weather outdoor exploration and all units are handicapped-accessible.
In addition, the camp includes the Ladyslipper Lodge, which is climate controlled and provides meeting areas, a kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room. Throughout the year, it is used for camping and troop events, council programs, and business meetings. During summer resident camp, it is used as an administrative area, science area, trading post, and staff housing.
