Notes

Ride to Fly is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding and the associated learning experiences to children and adults with disabilities in a safe, nurturing environment. We believe in the inherent worth and dignity of all people and wish to share the special gift of horsemanship with those with special needs. Ride to Fly is a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) member operating center that has been serving the South Bay area since 1994.

Our instructors are experienced riding instructors who have been specially trained and certified in the therapeutic riding techniques. Our dedicated volunteers also go through training and safety classes. Our horses are carefully selected for their calm, gentle natures and are highly trained. According to their abilities, participants perform traditional horseback riding activities. They groom the horses, saddle and ride. We use traditional English riding, bareback riding, games, trail rides, and exercises to provide fun and challenging sessions to meet each rider's individual needs.

Before participating in therapeutic horseback riding activities, individuals need to consult with their physicians. We require each prospective rider to present a complete medical history and signed physician's statement prior to a riding session.
