Ride On teaches horseback riding to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. Founded in 1994, Ride On is a 501 (C)(3) not-for-profit corporation serving 135 riders each week at two ranches. Our staff includes six nationally certified riding instructors and two physical therapists and we are a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) Premier accredited center. Serving the Conejo Valley, our Newbury Park site is located on a 13 acre ranch operated in partnership with the Conejo Recreation and Park District. In the San Fernando Valley, Chatsworth is home to our original site.
Ride On offers two programs: Hippotherapy, which emphasizes therapy and always involves a licensed physical, speech or occupational therapist and Therapeutic Riding which emphasizes recreation, riding skills and fun on horseback. We also offer able-bodied lessons for siblings and the general public. Ride On offers the only accredited Hippotherapy Program in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
