Canyon Ranch Physical Therapy, Inc. is an organization dedicated to providing Hippotherapy to individuals with disabilities through the use of specifically trained and selected horses.
We have licensed physical therapists that assist on an individual basis. Physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and educators are involved in the evaluation and goal setting process, as well as the on-going program. Progress is carefully monitored and charted to ensure that the program is consistent and the goals are met.
At our center, while on the horse, we incorporate specialized physical therapy techniques, gross motor, and fine tuning skills. We also include educational and cognitive activities.
Special physical therapy techniques are applied, namely NDT (Neuro-developmental Treatment) and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), along with other traditional therapy.
