Anson County 4-H is offered to all youth regardless of race, sex, national origin, religion or disability. Programs are informal and voluntary, but members must follow 4-H ideals and standards.

Special interest programs are normally offered throughout the summer while schools are out of session. Made up of at least six contact hours of educational instruction, these programs are offered to all youth. The summer features three opportunities - 4-H Camp SMART, Junior 4-H Camp and Cloverbud Camp SMART.

• 4-H Camp SMART - is a fun-filled week of adventures in Stanly, Montgomery, Anson and Richmond Counties. Beginning every morning at the local 4-H Office, youth are transported to and from designated camp locations. Age - 8-12 year olds.
• Junior 4-H Camp - is a residential camp to be held this year at Millstone 4-H Center in Ellerbe, NC. Campers participate in a variety of activities including horseback riding, swimming, nature classes, canoeing, archery and ropes courses. Age - 8-13 year olds.
• Cloverbud Camp SMART - is a mini-week of environmental and natural resources adventures at Millstone 4-H Center in Ellerbe, NC. Specifically designed for young audiences, youth are transported to and from camp. Age 5-8 year olds.
