Notes

Northwest EquiCARE Rehabilitation Riding Program is a 501c(3) not-for-profit charity based in Eatonville, WA. Founded in 1992 by Wendy Rude, Northwest EquiCARE is dedicated to providing equine therapeutic horseback riding for adults and children with a variety of disabilities.

It is the purpose of Northwest EquiCARE to provide this service as a means of meeting their physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional needs while offering support to their families, educators, and medical providers.

Therapeutic horseback riding is widely recognized as one of the most beneficial forms of recreational therapy available to people with disabilities. Northwest EquiCARE combines sport, education and medicine to create an inspirational atmosphere for healing that increases patients self-esteem and their interest in self awareness therapy.

Because Northwest EquiCARE is a not-for profit charity, the program welcomes and needs volunteers and sponsor. Volunteers are trained and can help in one of eight major areas such as communications, equine support, safety, volunteer training, education outreach and riding assistance.
