Three Rivers Adaptive Sports (TRAS) stands by the idea "If I can do this, I can do anything." Since our start in 1989 we have supported the belief that sports, recreation and physical fitness are an integral and important part of everyone's life.

TRAS, a non-profit organization, is comprised of individuals with physical challenges, health care professionals, and able bodied individuals. These members all volunteer many hours toward one goal - to educate and provide quality year-round sports and recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, their families and friends.

Over the past years, TRAS has grown to provide a variety of adaptive sports and recreational activities for individuals with disabilities.

Activities include: camping and canoeing; kayaking; water skiing; snow skiing; cycling; paint ball and many more.

Today we are much more than a organization serving people with disabilities. We actively recruit people with disabilities to fill positions as organization officers, instructors and volunteers. These people can also serve as positive role models for other people with disabilities through training, instruction, and encouragement. Our instructors and volunteers work interactively with members and participants to prepare them to participate with family and friends outside the organized TRAS events. TRAS believes that through sports and recreation everyone can gain the self-confidence, independence and sense of accomplishment that they can apply to other areas of their lives.

As a chapter of Disabled Sports USA (DS/USA), TRAS is one organization of a nationwide network of 81 community-based chapters in 31 states. DS/USA currently services over 60,000 people, including those with orthopedic, spinal cord, neuromuscular and visual impairments.
