The Decatur Park District's Special Recreation Assocication (SRA) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities by providing quality recreational programs. Through advocacy and awareness, we promote a successful leisure lifestyle. BINGO Put on your game face! BINGO is held monthly with prizes for winners ranging from shirts to cameras! BINGO night features seven games with drinks and snacks for your enjoyment. Dances at Scovill Banquet Facility A night of music, dancing and snacks! Dances are held the first Wednesday of every month from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Scovill Golf Club Banquet Facility. Dinner Club Dine out with your friends! You'll enjoy great food and a great atmosphere at various Decatur area restaurants. Video & Popcorn Enjoy popcorn and a movie as we feature a new video each month. Check your monthly calendar for dates. Fishing Derby Prepare for a fun day of fishing, with awards given for the biggest fish, smallest fish and most fish caught! Enjoy sandwiches, chips and a drink while you fish. Transportation is provided. Mini Golf Have fun while trying your luck and testing your skill at Paul's Puttin' Place! Transportation is provided. Movie Night Out Join your friends once a month for a night at the theatre. Popcorn and transportation provided. Camp I Can Swim, create arts and crafts and visit the zoo in this camp designed uniquely for special kids with special needs. Fun activities at Nelson Park, Fairview Pool, Scovill Zoo and more! Camp FIRE (Fostering, Independent, Recreation, Education) is designed for youth aged 15 - 21 (must be enrolled in High School with an IEP) and is an extension of Camp I Can. Participants will learn Special Olympics sports, take field trips and have a great time! Special Olympics Compete in the Special Olympics! Through the Special Recreation Association, athletes participate in various sports which continue year round. Upcoming sports include track and field, volleyball, and bowling.
