Acadiana Therapeutic Riding Organization (ATRO) is a non profit organization that promotes the rehabilitation of individuals with physical, emotional and learning disabilities through equine facilitated activities. We are a branch of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) located in Carencro, La. We firmly stand behind our motto "Hoofprints to Healing" in our quest to help those in need.
Therapeutic riding can help a wide range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Down's Syndrome, ADHD, autism, stroke, accident and other challenges requiring rehabilitation or maintenance. Those who continue this therapy are helped in an extreme way. The riders vary in age, but are all kids at heart when riding the horses.
