STAR EQUESTRIAN CENTER
Using horses as part of a individual's therapy program is increasingly popular and the success at Star is certainly proof of that.
Like any of the individualized programs at Star, each rider is assessed to determine how best the program can serve him or her. For instance, riders with cerebral palsy often ride with just a pad instead of a full saddle to give them the full benefit of the horse's movement; those with problems of balance are given a smooth-gaited horse while people riding to improve their cognitive skills are given a variety of tasks to perform while mounted on their horse.
Everyone, with and without disabilities, enjoys greater self-esteem and confidence as a result of therapeutic horseback riding.
