Notes

The Center for Creative Living assists the older person with functional disabilities to maintain maximum independence while taking part in community life. The program is designed for Fayette County citizens who are 60 years or older. Participants do not require 24 hour institutionalized care; but due to physical, mental or social impairments, are not capable of full time independent living.

The Center for Creative Living offers a full range of services which include health and personal care, nutritional meals, screening tests, information and referral services, individual and group activities, and transportation to and from the Center. The Center is designed to keep the elderly well, active, and independent. It takes advantage of other community resources, and is conveniently housed at the Senior Citizens Center. The therapeutic elements of this adult day health care program are directed toward meeting the health maintenance and restoration needs of participants. The group setting helps to overcome the isolation so often associated with illness in the aged and disabled and provides an alternative for long term care. The daily charge for services is adjusted according to the individual's income using the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Respite care services are available for a person or family who gives care to an older adult and needs a break from the care for one day or short term. Respite care services include lunch and structured social and recreational activities. Advance arrangement and payment are required. Please call (859) 277-3855 or (859) 278-6072 for additional information.
