Notes

Hearts & Horses, Inc. offers horseback-riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities. Our classes are open to people of all ages. Please visit our website for further information and download our Rider Information Packet. Potential riders must complete an application process that includes a pre-ride evaluation by a physical therapist. Some physical conditions preclude horseback riding.

Sessions are 6 weeks in length. Riders are encouraged to participate in as much of the preparation for riding as possible, grooming the horse and putting on the riding gear (tacking up). A class may have from one to five riders. Games and exercises focus on developing the riders' skills in various areas. Each student has individual goals.
