Notes

The mission of the Adaptive Ski Program is to provide safe and supportive ski lessons for adults and children with disabilities. A sense of accomplishment and a boost in self esteem usually accompany a day on the slopes. Since skiing is a gravity driven sport, even the least mobile candidates can participate in all the thrill, physical exercise and enjoyment that come from skiing.

Adaptive skiing in the Southwest is increasingly popular because of its blue skies and warmer day temperatures. Yet it is the warm feel of the people involved in the Adaptive Ski Program that make skiing in the Southwest the absolute best!

Since 1985, the Adaptive Ski Program has offered safe and supportive alpine ski lessons for adults and children (five years and older) with a wide array of disabilities. Lessons take place at Sandia Peak outside of Albuquerque and at Ski Santa Fe, 14 miles from the Santa Fe Plaza. Instruction is available in 2 track, 3 track, 4 track, blind, deaf, mono-ski, bi-ski and snowboarding.
