A Camping Adventure for Children with Diabetes.

CAMP NEJEDA, owned and operated by Camp Nejeda Foundation, Inc., is accredited by the American Camping Association and is fully approved by the New Jersey Department of Health. Camp Nejeda is located in Stillwater, New Jersey on 72 acres with a 7 acre lake.

Facilities include camper cabins, swimming pool, health center, dining hall, recreation and meeting areas, a large building for all weather physical activities, arts and crafts building, diet and diabetic teaching areas and much more.

The camping program is designed to meet the individual needs of each camper. The programs range from areas of interest to those in which the children can increase their knowledge in certain types of skills. Diet and diabetic teaching are included in the overall program. Following the daily activities schedule, campers then participate in the fun and exciting evening programs. Weekend programs are designed around a theme which is maintained throughout the weekend. Counselors with specific skills and training facilitate the programs, encouraging campers to participate.

The daily program includes such activities as swimming, canoeing, tubing, fishing, field sports, tennis, hockey, nature, biking, computers, rocketry, low ropes challenge course, archery, photography, to mention just a few. A large indoor facility is available for inclement weather activities. The evening programs feature campfires, dances, games and entertainment, depending on the campers' interests.
