  • Novelty (dancing with props)
ACTD curriculum is based on variety of motor learning techniques and teaching styles:

Visual Learning - A mirror system allows students to see themselves, correct their movements, and follow instructors as necessary

Auditory Learning - Classical ballet and contemporary music teach the skill of timing and emotional expression. Verbal English and ASL are used when learning and reinforcing skills.

Kinetic & Vestibular Learning - Dance focuses on awareness of each part of the body. Dancers learn how to express emotions, maneuver the spine, and regulate energy levels.

Tactile Learning Students are individually challenged to use appropriate body alignment and are assisted using hands-on techniques when indicated.
