Staff Training and Certification
  • Staff Training: The camp is sponsored by Pro-Speech of San Diego, a group of speech language pathologists. An ASHA certified, state licensed Speech Language Pathologist directs activities. Counselors are trained to be good communication partners. With one counselor for every 1-2 campers, each camper gets just the right amount of assistance to be successful.

Camp Talk is a day camp especially for school-age users of Voice Output Communication Aids. Designed and run by a Speech-Language Pathologist, it�s a great place for kids to:

  • Meet other kids and adults who have AAC devices Develop real life communication and social skills
  • Participate in fully accessible camp activities
  • Try new experiences
  • Build self-esteem and confidence
  • Have some fun in the sun
  • Just be a kid!
Each day, campers participate in favorite camp activities such as arts & crafts, music, skits, nature walks, story telling, games, and making friends.

Being near the beach allows for fun and unique experiences in boating, swimming, and marine life exploration. Activities are designed to be accessible for all. Not only will campers have a great time, they will want to tell you all about it.

Camp Talk is held at the Youth Aquatic Center, a sunny, beachside facility belonging to the Boy Scouts of America. It is located on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay in San Diego.
