Learn how to kayak while enjoying the natural beauty of Lake Powell. Paddle with us back into coves and explore the hillsides for wildlife. And when you get tired or are ready for a break, just relax on the beach and perhaps do some fishing.

All of us are adapting to go on the water since our normal environment is dry land. At Colorado Discover Ability, we primarily use Inflatable Kayaks (IK) from A.I.R.E. as well as hard-shell kayaks and canoes. We generally turn over our equipment inventory every 2-3 years so our boats are in great shape. The inflatable kayaks we use offer high performance yet provide a somewhat more forgiving ride and are much easier for us to use with our adaptive seating systems.

Consider taking a leisurely day float down the Colorado River through the Grand Valley. Or perhaps try one of CDA's overnight or multi-day river trips on the Colorado or Gunnison Rivers. As with all CDA trips, great food, meeting new friends and having a good time are all part of the experience. Our local floating season on the Colorado River typically runs from May through September. We offer trips for groups, families and individuals.
