Through a variety of horse-related activities, our riders realize many benefits that can include greater self-confidence, self-awareness, improved balance, increased muscle strength and range of motion.

Avalon provides therapeutic riding services, including Hippotherapy, to people with disabilities including: multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, spinal cord injuries, stroke and depression, as well as victims of physical, mental or emotional abuse.

Our staff includes an occupational therapist, certified occupational therapy assistant, certified psychiatric RN, special education teacher, massage therapist, NARHA certified riding instructors and many wonderful & very talented volunteers. Horses are considered staff and are specifically trained for therapeutic riding, including tolerance for wheelchairs, crutches, braces and bouncing balls. Our goal is to provide individualized therapeutic riding to improve motor, cognitive, perceptual and social development for people of all ages.
