Regarded as one of the top Easter Seals camps in the country, Rocky Mountain Village, is fully accessible and used by more than 800 children and adults with disabilities for summer camp sessions. The remainder of the year, campers enjoy respite weekends, providing a brief get-away while giving their families a rest from constant care-giving. At Rocky Mountain Village, campers enjoy swimming, fishing, arts & crafts, dances, outdoor camping, hiking and other camp activities.

A typical week at camp begins on Sunday mornings. All staff members must be present by 10:00 am. At this point debriefing for the upcoming week occurs.

Also the staff puts on any finishing touches to the facilities before our campers arrive. Check-in takes place between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Campers arrive and meet their counselor. They also check-in with our resident nursing staff to go over any health issues for the week. On Sunday afternoons campers and counselors spend time getting to know each other and preparing their skits for the Sunday night camp fire.

Travel camp is an exciting extension of the summer camp program. This program departs from camp after check-in on Sunday and ventures out of the camp facilities and into the beautiful Colorado experience. There are four travel camp sessions for the summer, and each one is different. Two weeks are dedicated for wilderness travel and the other two are designed around traveling with hotel accommodations. The wilderness travel includes visiting many state parks and also camping out in tents and sleeping under the stars! Hotel travel allows for campers who need more stable sleeping conditions to venture out from camp also. Both styles take advantage our state's adventurous settings and provide for a great experience.

Another part of programming that our Travel Camp provides is day trips. A day trip is an adventure off camp for campers and counselors to explore local events. These expeditions usually leave after breakfast and return to camp before dinner.
