Notes

FitKids FIRST

This community program is designed for children ages 6-12 and young adults aged 13-17 who are considered overweight and obese. Obesity in children and adolescents is a serious issue that, without intervention, can have many health and social consequences that continue into adulthood. We will provide these young people with the foundation to develop obesity management strategies, inspiration to give them the help that they need to succeed in reaching their goals, the children will learn to respect themselves and others through our four-day per week program, which includes weight training, conditioning, and seminar sessions. Children will succeed through the concept of teamwork and learning to help each other thrive. FitKids FIRST will provide kids and young adults with the opportunity to make a change in their lifestyle habits, including physical fitness, health, eating habits, and overall wellness. Being overweight or obese may cause little or no inconvenience to a child’s daily activity. Over time, however, a disability may occur from obesity. This program is designed to prevent childhood obesity from becoming a disability.
