• Special Olympics � The Recreation Department is the local coordinator for Special Olympics Vance County, which offers athletic opportunities for individuals ages 8 and older with intellectual disabilities. Coaches are needed for these events. Please call to volunteer.
• Vance County VIPs - The Recreation Department offers a Visually Impaired Program for area residents who have a visual impairment. The department offers a variety of monthly activities that include athletic programs, trips, support group meetings, family outings and special events. Each activity is designed to offer instruction and meet the interests of all ages. Average attendance for the group is 25.
