Description
  • Lincoln-Way Special Recreation Association is a program of adaptive recreation offered through a special cooperative agreement that includes Frankfort, Manhattan, Mokena, New Lenox, and Peotone Park Districts. LWSRA offers a wide variety of programs, athletic activities, and special events for individuals from pre-school through adult, who have disabilities and whose recreational needs are not met by regular park district programs.

LWSRA offers many athletic opportunities. Whether the participant is interested in competitive sports or would just like to get some exercise and have fun with friends, LWSRA has the activity to suit each individuals needs.

LWSRA offers a good choice of athletic programs (too many to mention here), from golf to swimming, basketball and softball to track and field, as well as participation in Special Olympics of Illinois.

LWSRA offers a variety of social and learning experiences. Three social clubs are now available as well as many special events and trips. Three summer camp programs encompass all age groups, from pre-school to adult. There are programs to teach you how to cook, create unique crafts and a program to enhance motor skills for the younger set. Day Trippers get together once a month to visit a Chicago area attraction and enjoy lunch together. Special events often include great theatre entertainment, delicious dining, professional sports games, dances and much more! At least one trip or overnight excursion is planned each session.
