Ski for Light, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded in 1975 to promote the physical fitness adults who have visual and physical disabilities, in an environment where "we can't" is replaced with "we can." People with and without disabilities join together in a one-on-one partnership to learn from each other through physically-demanding activities.

It is the mission of Ski for Light, Inc. to sponsor physically-demanding sports events throughout the country. These events include regional and international Ski for Light programs that teach cross-country skiing to persons with visual and mobility impairments. To achieve this end, persons with and without disabilities are paired to promote a working partnership. In addition, Ski for Light, Inc. spreads its philosophy and experience to as many people each year as possible and serves as a resource to communities, organizations and individuals.
