  • The Great Plains Paralyzed Veterans of America is a nonprofit organization that has dedicated over thirty years to helping its members and their families, as well as people with disabilities across the state of Nebraska. The Great Plains PVA strives to provide a unique blend of educational, vocational, social, and recreational activities. This work is part of its mission, part of the help PVA provides to those who have given so much. The PVA is at the forefront helping and advocating for the rights and benefits of people with disabilities.

    The Great Plains PVA Health & Fitness Center features a Magnum Advantage Trainer specially designed for use by individuals in wheelchairs, cardiovascular equipment, hand & wrist weights and a custom made REP Band resistance trainer. The Personal Fitness & Weight Training programs promote improved strength, endurance, balance and overall health. Youth and adult programs are structured to enhance the participants' personal physical abilities and assist them to achieve their individual fitness goals.

    The Great Plains PVA sponsors its members and associate members to attend the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. Participants train throughout the year to compete with veterans from across the country in hand cycling, shot put, javelin, billiards, bowling, softball, weight lifting, obstacle course, swimming and shooting.
