Bikes Belong (BB) welcomes grant applications from organizations and agencies within the U.S. that are committed to putting more people on bicycles more often.

The program funds projects in three categories: Facility, Education, Capacity Building. For the education and facility categories, BB will accept applications from non-profit organizations; and from public agencies and departments at the national, state, regional, and local level.

For the capacity building category, BB will only fund organizations whose mission is expressly related to bicycle advocacy. BB will accept requests for funding of up to $10,000 for facility, capacity, and education projects. BB will also accept successor proposals from previously funded projects. In extremely limited cases, we will entertain applications requesting more than $10,000.

The Bikes Belong Foundation just announced the launch of a new grant program to fund research on the economic impact of bicycling facilities and events.

The Bicycle Research Grant Program will award a total of $40,000 in grants to academic or non-profit research institutions in 2011. Grants will range from $5,000 to $10,000. The application deadline for the second round of grants is September 30, 2011.
