This senior executive position has broad operating authority and is responsible for overall planning, direction, and management of the National Center; is accountable for executing program goals that are results-oriented; and ultimately is the responsible official charged with ensuring the scientific rigor of the Center�s activities. NCBDDD is part of the Office of Noncommunicable Diseases, Injury and Environmental Health (ONDIEH) and is home to three divisions, the Division of Births Defects and Developmental Disabilities, the Division of Human Development and Disability, and the Division of Blood Disorders. The mission of the NCBDDD is to promote the health of babies, children and adults and enhance the potential for full, productive living.
To achieve its mission, the Center works to:
Identify the causes of birth defects and development disabilities;
Help children to develop and reach their full potential; and
Promote health and well-being among people of all ages with disabilities, including blood disorders.
