The Rehabilitation Medicine Department (RMD) seeks to recruit a full time, research oriented, Chief of Physical Therapy. The Chief position offers a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic team of 12 physical therapists and other professionals, while training the next generation of clinical practitioners. The position also offers an unparalleled opportunity to help shape the NIH research agenda as well as initiate new research programs.

This position resides within the Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center, a newly constructed, state of the art, 250 bed biomedical research hospital, which treats both inpatients and outpatients. Diagnostic populations include those with cancer, neurological disorders, infectious diseases, genetic and developmental disorders and mental health conditions.

The qualified candidate should possess 5 or more years of experience in medical rehabilitation, including: administration (staff supervision, strategic planning, and program development), clinical care and research. Individuals must demonstrate strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills for adult and pediatric populations in the areas of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. Current license to practice Physical Therapy is required.
