Purpose:
To convene a national meeting designed to bring together physical activity providers, health professionals, policy-makers and advocates. This program creates opportunities to meet and network with successful national health & fitness as well as state leaders to share ideas, experience, and advice with others dedicated to improving health through physical activity.
Keynote Speaker:
Dr. William Dietz, Director of Physical Activity & Nutrition, CDC, will provide an opportunity for an interactive dialogue with attendees to discuss the status of health promotion in this country and what role local communities/states play in effecting positive change. How can and do the leaders of these grass root efforts, such as the state physical activity Councils and local community coalitions maximize their efforts and collaborate with national leaders such as CDC and others.

The network of State and Governor�s Councils will present their successes, best practices and challenges.
