A new U.S. study to address health disparities among people with intellectual disabilities: Participants needed!

There is an enormous need to better understand the unique health needs of adults with intellectual disabilities (ID). An important new study is underway at the University of Illinois at Chicago to do just that, and we need your help!

The LHIDS project is recruiting caregivers, family members, and workers along with adults with ID residing in the U.S. to complete a 15-25 health survey once a year for four years. You will receive a $5 gift card for each survey, and your participation will contribute to important new health information to inform providers and policymakers on how best to serve the needs of adults with ID. The study is being done in partnership with Special Olympics, and in collaboration with many other organizations serving adults with ID.

The LHIDS study is led by Drs. Jim Rimmer & Kelly Hsieh, and based in the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Aging with Intellectual Disabilities at the University of Illinois Chicago.
