This continuing medical education program is designed to address the national epidemic of obesity, inactivity and adverse medical consequences of having an unfit population. A broad perspective of health and wellness will be presented. Physicians will learn a comprehensive response to improve the health and wellness of their patients. Topics include: Cardiovascular risk assessment, fueling for optimal performance (nutrition), physiological testing, complementary medicine�s contribution, athletes with asthma, operating under pressure, psychological dimensions, restorative sleep, and mental conditioning. In addition, lessons from the examination of retired professional athletes, triathlon training, civilian space flight, and health implications of air travel will be explored. Participants will have opportunities to participate in optional afternoon workshops held on the IMG Academies campus.
