Strength Training Guidelines


  • AVOID strength training if you have proliferative retinopathy - high blood pressure in your eyes.
  • Focus on increasing the number of repetitions rather than the weight.
  • Do not strength-train the same muscle groups on consecutive days.

Types of Strength Training

  • Free weights, weight machines, isokinetic machines
  • Interval training
