About the Author: Tanya D. Whitehead, Ph.D


Dr. Whitehead is a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Illinois - Chicago (UIC) in the National Center for Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD). Her previous position was in research and teaching at the University of Kansas, School of Medicine (1987-1996) and serving at the University of Missouri- Kansas City (1996 - 2010) as a research and teaching faculty.

Dr. Whitehead's record of technical publishing includes new media workshops, website development, scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, technical manuals, program evaluations, online educational and training workshops, and print-based training materials in an International venue. Her background includes 9 years in clinical practice of psychology, 15 years in higher education teaching, and 23 years in research.
