Introduction
Wheelchair curling is a sport that requires precision and strategy. Two teams of four members face off at a time and must be comprised of both male and female members. The object of the sport is to glide granite doughnuts (stones) 40 yards down the ice into the center of the 12-foot wide target. Curling is an excellent activity for improving hand eye coordination and concentration and is a relatively new sport to Olympic competition. Wheelchair Curling was in its inaugural year at the 2006 Torino Paralympic Games. Rules, regulations, and contact information on Wheelchair curling can be found through the World Curling Federation (WFC).
