Rectech's National Users with Disabilities Group Exercising (NUDGE): HeartFlex

HeartFlex is a lightweight device constructed with 18 precision ball-and-socket joints that create "consistent resistance" through a complete range of motion. It does not include springs or rubber bands that can snap back and injure the user.

Rather than engaging in heavy exertion, users complete multiple repetitions to increase strength and flexibility. While HeartFlex was originally developed for professional athletes to maximize sports performance, it has demonstrated effectiveness for wheelchair users, stroke survivors' strength training and rehabilitation, general post-surgery rehabilitation, and in maintaining blood sugar levels for individuals with diabetes.

HeartFlex weighs less than 1 pound, is easily transportable, and is durable and affordable. It can be used while sitting or lying, and has silent operation.
