Sled Hockey Equipment
Two hockey skate blades are attached underneath the sled. The sled is propelled by a player who uses two picks. Picks are shortened hockey sticks (1/3 the length of a regulation hockey stick) that have metal teeth at the end of the stick. Picks are used instead of one hockey stick. The players sit in the sled and use their picks to pass, stickhandle, shoot the puck and move their sled across the ice.
Standard hockey equipment is worn by players at all times and includes helmet with a shield, shin guards, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, neck guard and hockey pants. Straps are used to secure the players' feet, ankles, knees, and hips to the sled.
