NCHPAD - Building Healthy Inclusive Communities

Video Highlights

By: Kelly Bonner

One of NCHPAD’s favorite ways to promote living a healthy lifestyle is through our film productions. With a simple idea, our NCHPAD video team can develop a piece that engages and educates all audiences.  Included in the NCHPAD video gallery is adapted sports, walkable communities, documentaries, inclusive nutrition, national projects, and much more.  There is truly no limit to what our NCHPAD video team can create.  Our goal is to make sure we represent individuals with and without disability in our visuals so that anyone watching the video can relate to and benefit from its message.  We want to make sure it reaches all members of the community, which is sometimes easier said than done.  We task our videography team to emphasize inclusion in every aspect of the word, which can be a daunting task especially on a limited budget.  As the video team manager, I am always amazed when I share a vision or even just a poorly formed thought with the team, to which they are able to capture those thoughts and turn it into the perfect cinematic production.

This entire August newsletter highlights a video from each of our sectors as well as a feature article from one of our very own videographers.  If you aren’t familiar with our video productions, be sure to check out the NCHPAD YouTube channel and our video page for additional videos.  Videography is one way that we love to partner with other organizations and highlight the work that they are doing on inclusion.  For example, we recently partnered with Adaptive Sports USA to promote their Junior Nationals event. Another partner video we completed was for America Walks. They hosted a workshop on walkable and vibrant small towns, and we were able to capture and summarize the workshop for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7cNEbdaKDw
Combining the expertise of the organization and our videographers provides a win-win partnership and final product that both organizations can be proud to share.  If you have a project that you think should be highlighted, feel free to reach out to me at kellyb@lakeshore.org
