Recommended Adult Well-Care Visits, Screenings, and Immunizations


Listed below are the standard recommendations for Women Adult Well-Care visits, screenings, and immunizations. After assessing a patient’s risk factors and health history, it may need to be adjusted based upon their health status. It can be helpful to send out notifications to patients stay on top of their health to prevent or delay the onset of disease.

Women's Health Care Schedules

Ages 18-21
•    Yearly well-care visit
•    Pap test for sexually active women at age 21
•    Yearly chlamydia test for sexually active women through age 24
•    Yearly HIV test through age 64
•    Tetanus-diphteria every 10 years
•    Yearly flu vaccine
Ages 22-49 •    Well-care visit at least once every 4 years •    Yearly chlamydia test for sexually active women through age 24
•    Yearly HIV test through age 64
•    Pap test every 3 years through age 29. At age 30, every 5 years with HPV screening
•    At age 45, cholesterol check every 5 years
•    Blood pressure check every 2 years
•    Hepatitis C test once if born during 1945-1965
•    If seeking mammogram, self-refer to mammogram location
•    Tetanus-diphteria every 10 years
•    Yearly flu vaccine
Ages 50-64 •    Well-care visit at least once every 2 years •    Colon cancer screening
•    Yearly HIV test through age 64
•    Pap test every 5 years with HPV screening
•    Cholesterol check every 5 years
•    Blood pressure check every 2 years
•    Hepatitis C test once if born during 1945-1965
•    Mammogram every 1-2 years based upon risk factors
•    Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening for women ages 55-75 who have a family history and smoked 100 cigarettes or more during lifetime
•    Tetanus-diphteria every 10 years
•    Yearly flu vaccine
•    Singles vaccine once for ages 60 and older except for women who are immune suppressed
Ages 65 and older •    Yearly well-care visit •    Colon cancer screening up until age 75
•    Cholesterol check every 5 years through age 79
•    Blood pressure check every year
•    Hepatitis C test once if born during 1945-1965
•    Mammogram every 1-2 years based upon risk factors
•    Abdominal aortic aneurysm one-time screening for women ages 55-75 who have a family history and smoked 100 cigarettes or more during lifetime
•    Yearly vision and hearing check
•    Bone density test for women ages 65 and older
•    Tetanus-diphteria every 10 years
•    Yearly flu vaccine
•    Singles vaccine once for ages 60 and older except for women who are immune suppressed
•    Pneumococcal vaccine one time for age 65 and older
