Important Considerations for Exercising


  • Obtain a complete medical evaluation and physician consent before beginning an exercise program.
  • Work with your cardiologist about irregular responses to medications. Keep both your medication and exercise schedules regular to minimize complications.
  • Do a graded exercise test to determine the effects of medication on performance, if available.
  • Work with your orthopedic specialist to prevent overuse injuries.
  • Talk with your physician about other health concerns, such as high blood pressure or gastrointestinal reactions to your medications.
