Notes

Wings of Hope strives to provide a place of hope and healing that is inclusive to those with disabilities. There are an estimated 2,962,000 people with disabilities in the state of Texas, or 14.5% of the population over the age of five. Approximately 579,000 people, or 2.8% of the state's population, experience difficulties with activities of daily living, to include bathing, dressing, or moving around inside their homes. Horses are a powerful tool to independence! Equine assisted activities benefit individuals with a variety of physical, cognitive, emotional, social or a combination of these challenges. The four beat gait of a horse provides the most natural stimulation to a humans natural gait. This stimulation can provide numerous benefits to those with a diagnosis such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Epilepsy, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, premature birth, Parkinson's, and many more. Equine Assisted Learning is offered for individuals developing life skills for educational, professional and personal goals through equine assisted discovery. Through structured and unstructured experiences equestrians’ partner with an equine to increase knowledge, self-awareness, insight, discovery and growth.
