Camp Challenge is Florida's only Easter Seals Camp and is designed especially for children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities. The camp is more than a fond memory for a lot of campers but also an integral part of their pursuit of independence. Providing year-round respite care and summer camp programs, Camp Challenge is a little heaven on earth.

Campers are encouraged to participate in any activities they would like. Counselor supervision and assistance is always available.

• Arts & Crafts - Our arts and crafts building provides a roomy atmosphere specifically created to allow messy fun activities. Counselors are trained to encourage maximum camper participation in this area and may be there to turn the pottery while a camper paints, or to steady a hand. We have created necklaces, candles, potpourri, and plenty of smiles during this activity area.
• Sports / Team Games - The camp challenge Sports program has recently undergone a re-evaluation. We are hoping to offer wheelchair soccer by summer 2004 and other specialty programs! Specialty sports require special equipment and so will be added one at a time to our already great program. We have a paved basketball court and large field that is used for activities such as Bocce Ball, adapted kickball, water games, and more.
• High and Low Ropes - Ropes and Games is our newest program area offered here at Camp Challenge. We have a staff who are trained on how to maximize the incredible experience of teambuilding games for children and adults with special needs. Some of the low elements on our adventure course were designed specifically for adults/children who utilize a wheelchair for mobility. Our low elements, high ropes, and giant swing were also designed to be universal, meaning that someone of any ability, age (over age 6), or weight can experience at least one portion of the course.
• Archery & Riflery - This activity area has been offered since the first camping days here at Camp Challenge. Though we only offer this activity periodically, campers still enjoy the experience of target practice with archery and aiming at balloons in riflery. Volunteers and program leaders in this area keep the activity adapted for our campers.
• Nature Activities / Animal Farm - During our Nature program campers have the opportunity to try a variety of different activities. Some examples of the excellent activities we have done in the past are raising and releasing butterflies, learning about weather, having animals from the local zoo visit, and casting our own animal tracks. Activity leaders and counselors work together to adapt all activities for our campers and make use of our raised butterfly/herb garden, and our 1/2 mile paved nature trail.
• Drama & Music - Camp Challenge offers core activity areas daily and to try and liven things up we supplement activity areas with a Drama and Music Program. Though only offered periodically, campers enjoy putting on productions such as Grease and experiencing relaxation through music.
• Fishing - The fishing pond is currently undergoing structural repairs. However, this area offers a fully accessible dock, designed for fishing while either standing or sitting. The pond also offers a beautiful view of Florida birds and foliage.
• Swimming - The swimming pool is the favorite activity here at Easter Seals Camp Challenge! The special design of the pool makes it extremely accessible, and it is always staffed with a certified lifeguard and counselors. All campers who do not pass a swim test are supplied with lifejackets, and pool noodles and toys are a popular addition to the area.
• Specialty Programs - The fun and open atmosphere at Easter Seals Camp Challenge attracts involvement by many local business organizations and entertainers. Our campers have been visited by the local Sheriff's Department, The Sanford Zoo, Local Therapy Dog Organizations, Native American Flute Players, Dance Troupes, Magicians, and other interesting and fun individuals and groups.
• Evening Programs - Each evening at camp, we present a camp wide activity. This activity is to promote large group interaction and also represents a camping tradition. The evening activity can be anything from a camp style game of Family Feud to a humongous scavenger hunt. Of course there are the favorites such as Talent Night and a themed dance that campers of any age enjoy. Teen to Adult campers end their sessions with a final banquet and children experience the fun of a traditional Indian Ceremony and skit about teamwork.
