Notes

Fun, friendship, community, and wonderful memories await your child at the Ramah Day Camp. We provide children currently in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade the finest day camp experience in a warm, nurturing, safe, Jewish environment. Etgar, an innovative one-month program for 6th graders combines day camp, CIT, and community service experiences with trips and overnight adventures.

At Camp Ramah, campers experience active, exciting, creative, recreational programs infusing Jewish living, learning, and values into all that we do. Hebrew, informal learning, T'fillot (prayer), and Shabbat experiences are integral parts of our program and are experienced through interactive, hands-on activities.

Our summer program is enhanced by many special events including song and dance festivals, Maccabiah (sports festival) and other special program days. Field trips, overnights, and undernights (late stays for younger campers) are also big attractions. Ramah gives Jewish families the opportunity to explore Jewish life through special family programs and parent participation in camp activities.

Whether in soccer, swimming, arts and crafts, or music, your camper will experience a community of companionship as well as one of individual achievement. Camp days are filled with a wide range of specialty activities. In Sports, campers challenge their bodies and enhance their skills. Children learn at their own pace, develop greater confidence, abilities, and team building skills. We offer a full range of team sports and recreational activities such as soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, volleyball, "ga-ga" (Israeli dodgeball), and more!

Campers at the Ramah Day Camp participate in a Red Cross instructional Swim program. Certified water safety instructors and lifeguards lead daily instruction in addition to recreational swim.

Our Creative Arts programs include arts and crafts, music, drama, and Israeli dance. Arts and Crafts (Omanut) programs offers drawing, painting, ceramics, papier-mch, woodwork, decoupage, and much more. These activities are led by talented, experienced staff who help campers to stretch their creative talents and dabble in something new.

Imagination and creativity are sparked in our Drama program including improvisation, acting, writing, plus a camp musical. Music and Israeli Dance (Rikud) are big highlights at Machaneh Ramah Yomi (Ramah Day Camp). Our campers' repertoire grows by leaps and bounds as well as their Ruach (spirit) and energy.

Our Nature (Teva) program incorporates interactive activities on topics of animals and their habitats, plants, science, camping, with Jewish values and learning. In camp and out of camp trips add to our outdoor adventure.

The Ramah Day Camp staff is dedicated to a summer of camping adventure, while providing a nurturing, caring, atmosphere for young campers. Our staff, many of whom are former Ramah-niks serve as accessible Jewish role models through their ongoing commitment to study and Jewish life. In addition to an on-site Registered Nurse and certified Water Safety Instructors, our counselors and specialists draw upon their own unique talents and training to bring out the best in each individual camper while promoting Jewish values.

Parents have the option of sending their children to the Ramah Day Camp for a four, six, or eight week session. Fourth through sixth graders may also enroll for a four week session at Camp Ramah in the Poconos.

Our camp day begins at 9:00 am and ends at 3:40 pm, Mondays through Fridays. Kashrut is observed at the Ramah Day Camp. Campers bring their own kosher dairy lunch to camp, however beverages and ample snacks are provided daily.
