  • Accessible areas of building: Nearly one-third of our campers use mobility devices. Camp Joy is barrier free with extensive paved trails. Our cabins, lodges, and activity areas have access ramps (even the horse corral!). At the pool, a special lift helps non-ambulatory campers enter and exit the water.

Staff Training and Certification
  • Staff Training: Most of our staff are college students; many are training to become special education teachers, doctors, therapists, social workers, or psychologists. While their backgrounds vary, their common strengths include maturity, sensitivity, and the motivation to provide active, compassionate care. Usually, each counselor supervises two or three campers.

  • Age range of participants: 4 to 80+

Membership Fees
  • Fee to participate in the Program : The Summer Camp sleep-over session fee is $970; the fee for our special Adventure sessions (for higher functioning campers) is $1,080 due to our higher programming and transportation costs. The day camp fee is $100 per day.

Welcome to Camp Joy!
We're a camp for kids and adults with developmental disabilities: intellectual disability, autism, brain injury, and neurological disorders. Located near Philadelphia, Camp Joy's year-round recreational services include Summer Camp and Weekend Getaways. This summer will mark our 31st year!
