Notes

Participants will enjoy a variety of therapeutic recreation programs that will support and strengthen cognitive, physical, social and affective skills in a safe, supportive and fun-filled environment. Programs are offered in age appropriate groups and settings. Family members receive support, respite, and the opportunity for family participation in recreational activities.

New participants are provided with a pre-registration assessment and tour prior to beginning program. YWCA membership is encouraged but not required. Limited financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Families are encouraged to call to discuss their financial needs.

Sample Classes listed below. For current offerings, check respective catalogue.

  • Pre-School Sundays (Ages 3-5)
    A four hour program of play and activities in our Nursery School setting. Activities include: swimming, word games, block and puzzle play, art exploration, and active play in our gymnastic gym or outdoor playgrounds.
  • Sensational Sundays
    Children and teens continue to explore and develop their cognitive, emotional and social abilities in a safe, nurturing, and well-staffed environment. Swimming, art, music, games, outdoor play and more.
  • Learn to Swim Program
    Children will have a formal instructional swim class with close support and encouragement. Must contact the Special Programs office to register.
  • School Vacation Camps (Ages 5 � 21)
    Our school vacation camps provide five hours of daytime recreation and socialization including swimming, games, arts/crafts and more. Advance registration is required.
  • Fun & Fitness for Adults
    Adults aged 17 and over enjoy 4 hours of program designed to support fitness and positive social interaction. Enhanced by therapeutic recreation principles, planned activities include: fitness, swimming, creative crafts, music and social skill development. Designed for adults still living at home. Those living in group homes should call Jim Sullivan at ext. 108 to explore options for participation.
