Notes

About Camp Sealth
Come to Camp Sealth and learn new skills and improve diabetes self-management.

Campers visit medical staff before each meal and at bedtime. Meal choices are discussed with the dietitian, followed by blood sugar testing, and insulin dosing with physicians and nurses.

Together, the medical staff and camper decide the appropriate dose of insulin based on individual carbohydrate to insulin ratios and sliding scales. Blood sugar testing and insulin adjustments are made as appropriate to scheduled activities, and night time checks are performed when necessary. Every camper enters camp at a different stage of self-management, and the medical team is there to provide the highest quality care regardless of a child's individual skills and knowledge.

Many of the Camps opererated and supported by the American Diabetes Association offer financial assistance to families.
