The original vision to provide accessible Christian camping to people with disabilities is alive and advancing today. Inspiration Center, opened in 1975, is nestled in quiet woods among 155 acres in southeast Wisconsin. It is only minutes from the sparkling waters of Lake Geneva, one hour from Milwaukee and two hours out of Chicago. All buildings are wheelchair accessible and connected by a network of paved walkways. Guests sleep in spacious rooms in the lodge or in one of the six charming cabins. Individual attention, delicious home cooked meals, reasonable rates and a loving camp staff make Inspiration Center a great choice for your summer vacation. Hundreds of people with disabilities enjoy visiting the ministry every year.
Summer guests are offered a wide variety of fun activities such as: swimming in an indoor pool, horseback riding, guided fishing trips, archery, nature hikes on an accessible trail, outdoor camping in the platform tent, climbing the new tree climb, campfires, singing, talent shows, and much more. Activities are adapted to the ability of each individual, and even the tree climb and ropes course are accessible. Campers are encouraged with strong, Bible-based teaching and a great lineup of chapel speakers. Camps are available for both physically and mentally challenged. There are weeks designed especially for youth as well.
Staff members are specially trained to provide necessary personal care, assistance and directions that campers may need. Each session features a full-time nurse on the grounds to oversee medical care and camp safety.
