Notes

As with any camping experience, our camp for children with diabetes will provide fun and adventure, companionship and the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills in outdoor living. The aim of Camp AZDA is to provide the child or teen with diabetes a memorable recreational and educational experience. The main goal of the camp is to have fun! Campers will have the opportunity to learn more about monitoring, insulin administration, meal planning and exercise.

T.A.P. your potential in the Teen Adventure Program
We are pleased to continue to offer a more challenging program for older adolescents ages 14 to 16. The camp is situated in a secluded location near Friendly Pines Camp. Campers will live in small villages of platform tents in a more "primitive" camp setting. Many of the usual camp activities will remain available and more adventure-based activities such as rock climbing, longer trail rides, overnight campouts and a challenge course will be offered. Camper choice will guide many of the activity possibilities. Spaces will be limited and acceptance into T.A.P. will not be automatic.

Activities
Daily activities include: swimming, tennis, Western riding, water boarding, wagon rides, archery, riflery, fishing and hiking. Many campers will be attending camp for the first time and will find their trip away from home to be exciting and adventurous.

Evening activities will include a dance, a carnival and many other surprises. Meals will include songfests with a professional camp musician. Teens will be able to take overnight trips and more challenging hikes and will have the opportunity for socializing in the evening at the Kiva.
