Notes

Bearskin Meadow Camp, BMC, is one of the oldest and largest wilderness resident campers for children, teens, and families affected by diabetes. They are located in the Sequoia National Forest, 65 miles east of Fresno, California at an elevation of 5,800 feet. Campers and families join from all over California, the United States, and the world.

Bearskin Meadow Camp's Goal:
To enhance the quality of life for children and families affected by insulin-dependent diabetes. The campers learn that they are capable of meeting any of life's challenges and of pursuing any goals they choose. The camp accomplishes its mission by creating an accepting, supportive, and fun community.

Scholarship Programs:
If a family has difficulty paying the full fee, they may request a no interest payment plan (up to 10 months) or a scholarship application form. DYF (Diabetic Youth Foundation) has developed two scholarship programs to ensure camp is accessible to all children and families. The CHIP scholarship program provides a reduction of up to $300 off any camp program. The BRUNO scholarship program is for those who need from $300 to a full-fee scholarship. DYF recognizes that each family has unique needs and challenges, which is why they keep their application process simple.
