The Adventure Learning Center offers a variety of fun camp experiences for any child, including those with emotional and/or behavioral impairments. Our high staff-to-camper ratio and exciting, challenging activities make the camps rewarding experiences. As funding is available, we will offer camp scholarships to eligible participants.
Our 683-acre campus allows us to offer programs using a variety of adventure facilities and accommodations. Our adventure facilities include indoor/outdoor linear and maze ropes courses, indoor/outdoor climbing walls, climbing towers, and various cooperative and initiative sites. Other amenities include motel, cabin, dormitory, and campsite accommodations, a full-service dining hall and conference facilities.
Our camp philosophy is to create a positive environment that allows youth opportunities to grow. The Adventure Learning Center provides a setting where individuals are empowered to learn within an atmosphere of mutual respect, compassion, and understanding. It is also an environment in which campers can develop a positive self-concept and learn the value of cooperation and support within a group.
Camp for Children with Special Needs These camps are created for campers diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, EI, ODD, Depression, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, LD, RAD and other emotional or behavioral impairments. Some camps are designated for adopted youth only. All camps have a staff ratio of one counselor for every three campers. Camp activities focus on success, personal growth and fun.
About Eagle Village Second chances. Changed lives. That's what Eagle Village offers - open doors of opportunity for children and families. It started in 1968 with eight boys referred by the courts to Eagle Village, and today we have a 683-acre facility and serve thousands of children annually. Through programs and counseling, we help those who are abused, we find good homes for those that are victims of neglect, and we teach those that are in trouble with the law to lead productive, upstanding lives.
Eagle Village offers a wide range of programs including residential treatment, assessment services, short-term respite care, experiential-based programs, specialized foster care, adoption and post-adoption services, and community-based services.
