Located outside of Kings Canyon National Park, the landscape around this camp is studded with the largest of living things, the Giant Sequoia trees. Some of these trees are more than 3,000 years old. Teens can explore the forest, hang out on the lake, rappel down huge boulders, have an exciting adventure on night hike, plus have the opportunity to learn more about diabetes, themselves, and others living with diabetes.
Physical activities include backpacking, field sports, boating, volleyball, climbing wall, archery, and fishing. In addition, there is time for quiet activities, crafts, and nature study. Concepts in diabetes management and control are presented. Evening campfire programs include group singing, skits, and other fun age-appropriate activities.
